Frequently Asked Questions

Please take a moment to read this page.  Most questions are already answered here.

Where are you located?

We do not have a physical location or shelter.  All of our animals stay in foster homes until they are adopted.

How can I meet an animal?

Most of our animals are in private foster homes.  In order to meet them, you must be an approved adopter.  Some of animals can be seen at local businesses.  When that is the case, it is noted on their Petfinder profile.

I see an animal on your Petfinder site that I would like to adopt.  Are they available?

We update our Petfinder site frequently.  All of the animals that are on our Petfinder site are still available for adoption.

I want to adopt.  What do I do now?

If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you need to do is fill out an Adopter Application.  If you are unable to download the form, send us your name and address and we will be happy to mail you one.

What is involved in adopting?

Once we get your application, we'll call your references and a volunteer will call you to schedule a home visit.  The home visit is a chance for us to meet you and make sure that you're going to provide one of our animals with a loving home.

Why do I have to give you references, my veterinarian information and why must you come to my home?

Most of the animals that are in our rescue were scheduled to be euthanized.  We want to ensure that they are never abandoned again.  Having a thorough adoption process helps us to do that.

I want one of your animals, but I don't want you to spay or neuter it.

Then you've come to the wrong place.  All of our animals are spayed or neutered before going to their forever homes.  Why?  Because there are so many unwanted animals out there and we don't want to add to that unwanted population.

How much is your adoption fee?

Our standard adoption fee for dogs is $150.00.  This includes the spay/neuter, 4-in-1 general vaccination, rabies vaccination and a heartworm test.  Our dogs are given Interceptor for heartworm prevention and Comfortis for flea prevention monthly.  The fee also includes an adoption package with a collar and leash, toys, treats, food samples, a free first groom from Barks & Bubbles, 50% off of dog training from Take Back the Leash, a free day of doggy daycare from Dagny & Dexter's Doggy Daycare, a free order of homemade dog cookies from B's Barkery, 20% off your new companion's pet supplies at Suncoast Aquariums & Pet Supplies and one free day of pet sitting from Lucky Paws Pet Sitting.

Our standard adoption fee for cats is $75. This includes the spay or neuter, a general 3-in-1 vaccination and a feline leukemia and feline AIDS test. All cats are kept current on flea preventative while in our care. Each cat comes with their very own adoption kit including a free first groom from Barks & Bubbles, toys, treats, food samples, valuable coupons, 20% off of your new cat's supplies at Suncoast Aquariums & Pet Supplies and one free pet sitting visit from Lucky Paws Pet Sitting, LLC.

Most of our animals are sponsered and have a lower adoption fee than listed above!
